Debra Shawver

Satellite Choir Conductor

Mrs. Debra A. Shawver is delighted to direct the Miami University satellite choir! She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from Miami University, and has completed levels one through three in Orff Schulwerk at University of Kentucky. She has been involved in vocal and choral work in the community and churches in Michigan and Ohio for over 40 years. Mrs. Shawver was the director of the historical “Company of Singers” in Greenfield Village, a part of Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. She taught voice and piano in a private studio in both states and recently retired from serving as a choral director and general music teacher in the Talawanda School district for 28 years, having taught at every grade level. She is married and has two grown daughters, two son in laws, a grandson and two granddaughters. She was a past member of NAfME, ACDA and currently a member of AOSA. In her spare time her & her husband are  renovating a cabin near Metamora, Indiana.
