Cincinnati Public Schools students in grades 3-7, who have been identified as gifted in the area of vocal music, are invited to participate in this city-wide honor choir mentored by the Cincinnati Youth Choir under the direction of the nationally known clinician/conductor, Robyn Lana. They will have two days of interactive rehearsal that will culminate in a performance the final Saturday. The Honor Choir will experience CYC philosophies. There is no financial requirement for participation.
Repertoire is culturally diverse and inclusive mirroring the students’ heritages.

In 2012, the Cincinnati Youth Choir (CYC) received generous funding from the Louise Deterle Nippert Musical Arts Fund of the Greenacers Foundation, to help create the Cincinnati Public School (CPS) Honor Choir program. During our first year, 80+ CPS students, from 23 + different CPS schools combined forces and performed with our award-winning Bel Canto Choir during the World Choir Games at the gorgeous Aronoff Center! Funds continued to provide a group 115+ singers the opportunity to learn and perform with our Bel Canto choir. After a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2022, we once again welcomed the top talent from each CPS School, and reunited to create beautiful music together, without financial obligation.
