CYC’s advanced touring choir is for singers in grades 6 through 12 with excellent vocal technique and strong sight-singing skills. Singers in this group are willing to commit to rehearsing twice a week, resulting in a prestigious performance and touring schedule.

CYC’s SATB ensemble for singers in grades 10 through 12 and changed/changing male voices. Choir members perform advanced repertoire and is designed for those with excellent vocal technique and reading skills.

CYC’s advanced middle school choir for singers in grades 5 through 9. Choir members use healthy vocal technique, refine their music literacy skills, and deepen their artistic interpretation. Recognized as a leadership ensemble within the CYC program, Con Brio collaborates with choirs from across the region and the U.S., and proudly serves as the host choir for the Queen City Choral Festival.

CYC’s upper-intermediate choir for children in grades 4–7. Singers will continue to build healthy vocal technique while strengthening music literacy skills. Through dynamic rehearsals and diverse repertoire, choristers will develop confidence in reading and performing two- and three-part music, preparing them for more advanced ensemble experiences.

Designed for children in grades 1–4 and serves as a joyful introduction to choral singing. Young singers will explore the fundamentals of music through engaging rehearsals, creative games, and playful activities. They’ll build skills in basic note reading, solfege, and healthy vocal technique, while developing pitch accuracy and confidence. Repertoire includes unison and beginning two-part music, setting the foundation for a lifelong love of singing.

Robyn Reeves Lana is a distinguished choral conductor and educator, renowned for her 32-year tenure as Founding Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Youth Choir (CYC). She has led performances at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, and internationally in Europe and Asia. Lana currently teaches at Miami University and has held faculty positions at CCM and Xavier University. A published author and editor with Santa Barbara Music Publishing, she’s received numerous honors, including The American Prize and Chorus America awards. Lana is also recognized in Imagineers • Impresarios • Inventors for her impact on Cincinnati’s arts scene.

Dr. Anthony Trecek-King is a highly acclaimed choral conductor, scholar, pedagogue, and media personality with a career spanning over 20 years. He is an active guest conductor and serves as a Resident Conductor (chorus) with the Handel and Haydn Society. Recognized for his ability to create moving performances that exhibit a surprising range of dynamics and depth of expression, Dr. Trecek-King excels at cultivating vocal and instrumental musicians at all levels. Through his collaborative rehearsal style, he bridges the gap between high art and humanity, captivating audiences while maintaining exceptional sonic quality.
