The Cincinnati Choral Academy (CCA) is a collaborative program of the Cincinnati Youth Choir, Cincinnati May Festival, and the Vocal Arts Ensemble. CCA is a free after-school program offering a comprehensive music literacy and choral education to students in grades 3-6, once or twice per week. Participants who would benefit most from the Choral Academy are recommended by school staff members. Recommended students are not required to have prior musical experience, but a commitment to attending all weekly rehearsals and performances is essential.
Program Mission
The Cincinnati Choral Academy’s mission is to enrich and educate the community by building outstanding young leaders in a safe environment while providing musical excellence to all youth regardless of their background.

Offering children of all backgrounds the opportunity to experience musical excellence in a creative environment is an integral part of the CYC mission. Our participants demonstrate the knowledge gained, experience a sense of accomplishment, and cultivate greater self-esteem. The CYC education team and Board of Directors have seen the long-term benefits in a young person’s life who has experienced community through musical excellence.
CYC envisions a thriving global community strengthened and transformed by music artistry. Toward that vision, CYC strives to support the efforts of music educators in the Tristate region. Crescendo Project strives to share CYC vision, philosophies, and teaching techniques by supporting teachers and choral professionals in ways that best suit their individual needs helping to promote choral artistry throughout the region.
Teachers, school districts, and arts organizations are invited to experience CYC philosophies by bringing a CYC teaching artist into their program FREE OF CHARGE. Individually, educators may choose to receive one-on-one discussion and exploration. For groups, schools may choose to have a CYC teaching artist work with their students/choir or share during a district wide teacher development workshop or board workshop.

Your generosity helps the Cincinnati Youth Choir provide transformative musical experiences for young singers. Donations directly support essential program needs, such as hiring skilled accompanists and teaching artists, purchasing new music, and ensuring children have access to high-quality choral education. Contributions also help fund performance attire, transportation for engagement programs, and scholarships for young musicians. Larger gifts enable us to commission new choral works and bring in guest artists for residencies, enriching our singers’ education and expanding their artistic horizons. Every donation plays a vital role in sustaining our mission and creating lasting musical opportunities for youth in our community. ❤️🎶
