Cost: $20 (per day) if you have a recommended singer who registers & pays for the program.
$25 (per day) if you do not have a registered singer in the program.

All sessions will be held in the University of Cincinnati CCM Village.

9-9:45 = Session 1

July 30th: Sight Singing Techniques for the Choral Singer – Sandra Thornton, CYC Assistant Artistic Director

July 31st: Introduction to Kodaly – Dr. Eva Floyd, Professor of Choral Music Education at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Kodaly specialist

9:50 – 10:35 = Session 2

July 30th: Vocal Health For the Choral Singer – Erin Donahue, Singing Specialist and Voice Pathologist at the Blaine Block Institute for Voice Analysis and Rehabilitation

July 31st:  Eurythmics – Marc Katz, CYC Board Vice President and former music educator within the Cincinnati Public School System

10:35-10:50 = Break (coffee & tea provided)

10:50-11:35 = Session 3

July 30th: Tone Building & Warm Ups That Work – Robyn Lana, Managing Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Youth Choir and choral music specialist

July 31st: Rehearsal Management Techniques – Ligaya McGee, Music Educator within the Princeton City School District

11:35 – 12:30 = Lunch (provided) and round table discussion-  Robyn Lana, Managing Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Youth Choir and choral music specialist & Kay Tyler, General Music Specialist, Kodaly and Orff Certified, National Teaching Certificate in Early/Middle Childhood Music Education

12:30 – 4pm – Mass rehearsal & breakout sessions observation – Breakout sessions taught by CYC Children’s Choir Festival Staff. Teachers will get an opportunity to observe the students in Orff Based Movement Classes, Sight Singing, Small Group Vocal Instruction, Orff Based Music Theory, and Music History.
